Our Story
Born from a promise.
Beatrice Carers was born from a deeply personal experience. Founder Sharon Matrose watched her own family struggle to find caregivers who combined real training with real warmth — people who would treat an elderly parent the way they would treat their own.
In South Africa, families face an impossible choice: send loved ones to facilities that feel institutional, or piece together informal care without proper oversight, training, or accountability. Sharon believed there had to be a better way.
She built Beatrice Carers to be that better way — a premium home caregiving agency where every caregiver is vetted, trained, and supported; where families are partners, not customers; and where dignity, comfort, and trust are non-negotiable.

Sharon Matrose
Founder & Director of Care
Sharon Matrose founded Beatrice Carers after years inside the South African healthcare system, where she witnessed firsthand the gap between what families needed and what was available. Too often, loved ones were forced into facilities — or left in the hands of carers who lacked the training, support, or accountability that the work demands.
Sharon set out to build something better: a caregiving agency where every caregiver is professionally trained, thoroughly vetted, and treated with the dignity their profession deserves — so that they, in turn, can extend that same dignity to every client.
Today, Sharon leads a team of caregivers who share her conviction that home care should feel like family — warm, reliable, and deeply human.
